Stine Hoff is behind Porcelain Perfumery, where natural ingredients, slowness and deep perception create a new form of perfume. Here it is not about smelling for others – but about connecting with yourself.

A fascination that started in childhoodIn a world where fragrances are often synthetic, loud and designed to impress, Porcelain Perfumery represents something different: something quieter, deeper and more natural. Behind it all is Stine Hoff, natural perfumer and founder of Porcelain Perfumery, who has just opened a shop and studio at Sankt Annæ Plads in Copenhagen. Stine began collecting perfumes at the age of seven, and her fascination with scents became a lifelong passion. Today, she creates perfumes exclusively from natural ingredients: tinctures, absolutes and oils, which – unlike synthetic alternatives – are more complex, more intimate and more changeable. Each scent is a small ritual, created with respect for the pace of nature and the depth of tradition. " My perfumes are created from the heart and with intuition – with respect for both nature and tradition. " |
Slow perfumery with deep roots
Porcelain is an artistic and intuitive perfumery. Everything is developed by hand and in deep understanding of the botanical perfume tradition. Stine herself calls it “Slow Perfumery” – an approach where fragrances are created and matured slowly, and where both the process and the experience call for calm. It is a conscious counter-movement to the fast and superficial, and an alternative to perfume as an eye-catcher and branding.
“ I feel a growing longing for something real and meaningful in a time when so much is superficial and fast. ”

A natural choice – with consideration for the body and the planet
Choosing natural perfume is not a trend, but a comeback. Because what is natural works with the body, not against it. It is gentler on the skin, kinder to the soul and leaves a lighter imprint on the earth. Stine creates an alternative to synthetic perfumes, which are often based on petrochemicals, phthalates and other substances that burden both humans and the environment. In Porcelain, all ingredients are biodegradable and selected responsibly.
" Why wear synthetics when nature has already given us everything we need ?"
A space for contemplation and the art of scentBut Porcelain is not just perfume. It is also a space for sensation, immersion and learning. In her studio, Stine holds workshops where participants have the opportunity to create their own natural scents. She also organizes annual retreats in Italy and Greece, where perfumery is combined with calligraphy, ceramics and the rhythm of nature. Most recently on the Greek island of Andros, where participants from all over the world met around that which cannot be rushed. |

A life with presence as a guide
Stine’s approach is shaped by life itself. She has lost both of her parents to cancer, and it has taught her to live more consciously, to choose the presence of and to prioritize what really matters. She recently took three months out of her calendar to be in Southern Italy with her husband and their three children – a kind of mini-retirement in the middle of everyday life. The slow way of life is also reflected in Porcelain’s basic idea: to make room for the real and the meaningful.
“ I try to live in the present instead of dwelling on yesterday or worrying too much about tomorrow .”

A perfume with personality and perspectiveStine is inspired by people who do things their own way, and she herself draws energy from silence, yin yoga and small rituals. She believes that being relevant is not about being the fastest, but about being true to yourself. Porcelain Perfumery is a tribute to the slow, the natural and the present. A perfume brand with soul – and with the will to do things differently. See more about Percelain Perfumery on the website here |
