Nordic berries

We have chosen oils and extracts from Nordic berries as some of the core ingredients in our products. Nordic berries have an extremely high content of beneficial vitamins and fatty acids.

We are inspired by our unique Nordic nature and cultural heritage when developing our products. Our Nordic berries are harvested in the pure and wild nature, Wild Harvest, and reflect much of what we associate with and value about the Nordic region; purity, simplicity and functionality. Berries and fruits harvested in the wild have a particularly high nutritional content and support biodiversity in their natural habitats.

BILBERRY SEED OIL

Bilberry seed oil has clinically documented effects and very special properties that make it suitable for products for mature skin.

  • Contains a full spectrum of natural isomers of tocopherols and tocotrienols, the vitamin E compounds that effectively protect cells from oxidative stress.
  • Is extremely rich in essential fatty acids that are important for restoring the lipid barrier in the skin, which protects the skin from external damage.
  • Contains phytosterols, which are a potent antioxidant that can help slow down skin aging by promoting collagen production, increasing cell division and preventing moisture loss.

With regular use, the oil can reduce damage that has already occurred and slow down the aging process of the skin. This excellent combination of active substances and their effects makes bilberry seed oil a unique ingredient for anti-aging purposes.

Blueberries (Vaccinium Myrtillus) grow in the Arctic regions of Finland. The blueberries from which our seed oil comes are handpicked in the natural vegetation of Lapland, and are what is called Wild Harvest. They are known as European blueberries and are edible wild berries that grow mainly in Northern Europe. Blueberries are smaller and darker compared to American blueberries, and they are also both softer and juicier. Blueberries are known to be a super berry with an extremely high nutritional content. Bilberry seed oil is as beneficial for the skin as whole blueberries for overall health.

The oil is extracted from the tiny seeds of Nordic blueberries, making it an exclusive and potent oil.

RASPBERRY SEED OIL

Raspberry seed oil has clinically documented effects and is particularly suitable for skin with excess oil production, blemishes or eczema. This is due to its anti-inflammatory effect on the skin.

  • Is rich in antioxidants, both ellagic acid and vitamin E, which make the skin firmer and more youthful
  • Has a very high content of vitamin A, which increases collagen formation.
  • Has a high content of essential fatty acids (Linoleic acid and Linolenic acid) that help protect the skin while moisturizing it.
  • Has a high content of phytosterols, which are potent antioxidant that can help slow down skin aging by promoting collagen production, increasing cell division and preventing moisture loss.

Raspberry seed oil is particularly good for skin with conditions such as eczema, psoriasis or sun damage, as it increases moisture in the skin. After using the oil, many will notice less inflammation, and symptoms of eczema may be relieved by using products containing raspberry seed oil.

Raspberries (Rubus Idaeus) grow in the purest Arctic areas of northern Finland. Raspberry seed oil is extracted from the seeds, making the oil an exclusive and potent ingredient. The raspberries are wild-harvested and hand-picked from the natural vegetation of Lapland.

CLOUDBERRY EXTRACT

Cloudberry extract has clinically documented effects and is particularly suitable for mature skin. It is also gentle and soothing for inflammatory skin, which is why it is included as a core ingredient in our soap products.

  • Has a high content of polyphenols, enhanced by the long Arctic summer days. Polyphenols are naturally occurring antioxidants that counteract skin aging and protect against the daily effects of wind, sun, humidity and air pollution.
  • High in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that strengthens the skin and evens out fine lines and pigmentation changes. The vitamin stimulates collagen formation and increases cell renewal.
  • Stimulates anti-elastase activity, which means that skin and hair elasticity is improved.
  • Is free from common allergens and is non-irritating to skin and eyes.

Cloudberries (Rubus Chamaemorus) grow in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Northern Russia. The cloudberries that are included in our extract are handpicked from the natural vegetation of Lapland, and are what is called Wild Harvest. Arctic Cloudberries are the most nutritious of the wild berries in the Nordic region. In cloudberries, the solar energy of the midnight sun is converted into sugars, fatty acids and vital vitamins. In ancient natural medicine, cloudberries were used to treat fever and scurvy

SOURCING & PRODUCTION

Bilberry seed oil, raspberry seed oil and cloudberry extract come from Lapland in Finland and are produced in modern facilities. The process of extracting the oils and extracts from the seeds is gentle and preserves the delicate and valuable fatty acids and fat-soluble nutrients in their natural and bioactive form. The production has the strictest environmental and occupational health and safety criteria, and the unique technical features help to ensure that the highest possible standard is achieved in terms of product purity and safety.
