Fascia exercises for the face

Here we delve into an important part of skincare that is often overlooked – your fascia. Your facial muscles are wrapped in thin sheets of connective tissue called fascia. These fascia need to be well-hydrated and supple to function optimally. When dehydrated, they become stiff and inflexible, hindering your skin’s ability to be supple and healthy.

Join us as we guide you through a fascia release program that promotes blood circulation, increases lymphatic flow, and supports hydration, suppleness, and glow. With this simple yet effective exercise, you will experience a visible difference in both the look and feel of your skin.

Make sure to clean your face and hands before you start. Have fun!

Love, Team Yrolí 💙

MORE ABOUT YOUR FACE

When we think of the face, we often focus on the skin, but the face is so much more. The skin is like the tent canvas stretched over your connective tissue and fascia, and it is here, one layer deeper, that much of the skin magic actually starts. The skin is the outer layer, but underneath it lies connective tissue and fascia, which play a central role in the health and appearance of the skin.

When you look in the mirror, you see that the face is framed by hair (maybe). If you imagine that you can look a layer deeper, you will see that the face spreads over a much larger area (Katja tells more about this in today's cover), and that is precisely why it is a really good idea to frame a larger area and use effective in-depth techniques if you really want to make a difference for / in your face.

RED THREAD TO HEALTHY SKIN

Your skin gets its primary nourishment from the layers beneath it. Through increased blood circulation (with more conscious breathing), the connective tissue benefits from a more well-oxygenated blood supply. All of this benefits your skin. Because it is really important to have well-functioning connective tissue and a well-hydrated fascia network. They form the “soil” for your skin.

If your tissues and fascia are dry and inflexible, the surface of your skin becomes stickier. This reduces the important flow of blood and lymph (nourishment and cleansing) and can make your face feel and look more tired, lifeless and unhealthy. That's why it's important to sometimes send your attention a few layers deeper. And the result is happy, well-hydrated and healthy skin with good collagen production and a nice natural glow.
