Of course, I am also only human
Ann Poulsen is behind the Instagram profile @kodeordeter. Here she shares creative projects daily to her almost 30,000 followers. The common denominator, the focal point or perhaps even the “codeword” is to inspire more conscious consumption through sewing projects, recycling and DIY.
Ann has been a loyal Yrolí ambassador from day one. She is real, direct and honest like Yrolí, and the collaboration has grown and developed organically over the past few years, as it should. We have the deepest respect for Ann and her thoughtfulness, creativity and integrity.
Ann and Yrolí hope that together we can focus on and inspire a change in our consumption habits based on the “little but good” philosophy. Read below about Ann’s thoughts on consumption, how she herself has changed her habits, and which Yrolí products she cannot do without.

Buy less and better
I have become much more conscious of my own consumption in recent years. I am very aware that resources have been used in everything that has been produced and the day I part with things does not mean that they disappear. That is why I think about how much I buy, but also what I buy. It should be things that I need, things that I want to keep and are of such good quality that it can be passed on and used by others.
Of course, I am also just a human being and a consumer, and I will never point fingers at other people's way of consuming and doing things. But I think we owe it to ourselves and future generations to take care of our planet. Even though we should not take all the responsibility on our own shoulders, we all still have a responsibility to help, and here consumption is one of the places where we can make a difference.
My advice is to buy less and better.

Consumption is consumption, even when it is recycling.
I always prefer to buy recycled when possible. But consumption is consumption and recycling should not be an excuse to consume more. If we buy new, I think it is important that we buy from those who care about where and how their goods are produced. Unfortunately, it is still not a given that the products are produced under proper conditions or that they do not contain harmful chemicals.
I take pride in being able to sew my own clothes.
I started my Instagram profile 10 years ago when I moved to Copenhagen and bought my first apartment. I wanted to share my life and the developments in the apartment with those back home in Jutland. Suddenly more and more followers started to come.
Even though I have always decorated with recycled materials, I have also been a big consumer of the latest trends in clothing, for example. I have definitely evolved in that regard. I don't have the same need to have the latest new thing, which I was never really happy with anyway, and which I sold on shortly after. I take pride in slowing down, being able to sew my own clothes, knit my own hat and come up with my own ideas for living more sustainably.

Like Yrolí, Ann doesn't use unnecessary outer packaging, gift boxes, or wrapping paper when wrapping gifts. By wrapping in newspaper, recycled paper, or fabric scraps, you can wrap with a clear conscience while still getting beautiful, unique gifts.

I can use Yrolí with a clear conscience
I have chosen to collaborate with Yrolí because they are not just another skincare brand. They are a brand whose values align with mine. They are responsible and transparent. I can use their products with a clear conscience. The ingredients are carefully selected with consideration for the environment and the packaging goes into circulation with proper waste sorting.
One layer fits into my everyday life
Yrolí's one layer approach fits into my everyday routine while still giving my skin what it needs. After my morning shower, I use the Boosting Eye Serum and Face Oil. Every evening, I cleanse my face with Micellar Water and finish with Hydrate Overnight, which I leave to work overnight.
A nice hug after the bath
My favorite products from Yrolí have to be both the Body Oil and the Body Lotion. Both feel like a nice hug after the bath.
