GuestHouse Læsø was born from a dream of an accommodation option on Læsø, where quality, tranquility and presence go hand in hand. The desire is for GuestHouse to be homely, like a home away from home. GuestHouse Læsø is owned by the two couples Sten and Marianne Uggerhøj and Morgen Nielsen and Anne Uggerhøj, who both have their homes in Frederikshavn. To handle the daily operations and management of the business, they have hired Tina Viborg Thomsen as their dedicated general manager. It is Tina who guests have the pleasure of meeting when they visit the place.

A home away from home
“We opened in July 2023 after a thorough renovation and on the same occasion we changed our name from Læsø Vandrehjem to GuestHouse Læsø. Before the renovation and name change, the place had been run as a traditional hostel for over 20 years. We have deliberately taken the original buildings as our starting point, but with a huge lift to the “next level” to preserve the place’s charm and DNA. We have made a lot of effort to choose the interior and furniture so that it suits the place and creates the right atmosphere – Easy to relax”. - Marianne Uggerhøj
“Easy to relax” means that the beds are made before arrival, there are towels, bathrobes and a large net for the beach trip as well as coffee stations in all rooms. “ We have chosen to have delicious bath products from Yroli in all rooms to pamper our guests a little extra. The good scent exudes pampering and good quality. Being pampered is part of being on holiday. We are in the process of building our own self-service shop at the reception – and here it is of course also possible to buy delicious Yroli products for self-indulgence, as a hostess gift or the like”. - Tina Viborg Thomsen

Trust-based hospitality
GuestHouse is self-service and keyless. However, this is no contradiction to the good hospitality and to making guests feel welcome. Læsø is world-famous for its salt and spiny lobsters, and for Guesthouse Læsø, the nature and tranquility of Læsø are paramount. That is why they are especially proud of their outdoor environments, including their large barbecue station, where guests can grill themselves. They have plenty of garden furniture, cozy oases with sun loungers and, not least, wonderful outdoor showers. In addition, they have a lovely communal kitchen and a good selection of beer, water, wine and snacks in the Trust Bar. Everything is built on trust in the guests and making them feel at home.
Fish, salt and unique experiences
Tina is a local Læsø girl, educated in the tourism industry and with a great love for adventure tourism and hospitality. As a native of Læsø, she can point out great experiences, from good cycling routes, child-friendly beaches, good places to eat and where to find the best roadside stalls with chanterelles, home-pickled jams and flea markets.
We want to send our guests where we know they will have a good experience. That's why we always send them in the direction of our own favorite places. Fortunately, there are many good options on Læsø.
We like to highlight nature and a dip in the sea - all year round. We are lucky that it is only 250 m. to the beach and an 8-minute walk to the jetty and the most beautiful sauna, which has recently opened for tourists to buy day tickets - see Vesterø Vinterbadere
You can't say Læsø without saying salt, and the Saltsyderiet is definitely worth a visit. Not far from the saltsyderiet is Storhaven , which is the most beautiful farm with free-range animals, homemade ice cream and a lovely farm shop.
We are surrounded by sea, and we are well-versed in eating freshly caught fish. In both Vesterø, where GuestHouse Læsø is located, and in Østerby, there are fishmongers, such as Thorsenfisk, with delicious fish fritters, lunch menus and freshly caught fish that you can buy to take home at very good prices. There are several good restaurants over here and good shops – also within walking distance of Guesthouse Læsø. - Tina Viborg Thomsen
